Introduction
Lets get started!
Twitter should be helping you to grow your business quite soon. We are here to help you tweet and build your twitter account for fun, for business or even as a secondary income if you want it too.
Click here in case you missed our Welcome.
This seven part guide details our complete system, starting from the very basics to the more sophisticated all the way through to how you can run a twitter business and make money. Even if you don’t have a business right now.
If you don’t have a business right now why not visitor one of our sister sites – opt-in.co.uk, sign up, and you will get a custom pdf that you can download. You will find as you read it that either you can buy services from the author, or you can do what we have done and sign up as a partner and offer free ebooks to your site visitors – and if someone buys any services as a result, we all share the income. Easy and it costs nothing! Visit opt-in.co.uk and check it out.
Twitter basics:
- You can send a message on twitter as often as you like.
- It must be less than 140 characters.
- People may or may not read your message.
- Your account is open, so anyone can access your account and be informed every time you tweet, simply by following you.
General principles.
Using twitter you can present your point of view or ask questions in real time to a following that you can actively build who may or may not give you the response you were expecting.
You can use Twitter to learn how to get answers and how to communicate and possibly engage with your followers.
HowToTweet is about talking to your following and about building an appropriate following quickly. Your voice will be heard! As a result it is a great business tool.
How to open a Twitter account
Essential to using Twitter, you need to open an account at Twitter.com without an account you cannot use Twitter to engage. Luckily it is a very simple process. We will walk you through the fastest way to open an account in just two steps, there is a lot more to it, we shall cover that in the next step. In the meantime there are just two steps necessary to getting you started, so here goes:
- Go to twitter.com and follow the instructions on how to set up your profile, by clicking the green button in the middle of the page that says Get Started – Join!
- You are invited to set up your profile, just answer the questions… You should add your real name, a brief 160 word biography (include your business area in this), a link to your website and add a real photo – not a company logo or product shot.
How to tweet
Again for the sake of brevity and to get you going, we have reduced the instructions to just two steps. There is more to it and we shall take you through those details later, but for now, lets just send a tweet and see what happens – no one will get hurt!
- Visit twitter.com and log in to your account
- There is a big box at the top of the screen, above it is the question What are you doing? Let people know, type in a message, click on the Update button – You have sent a tweet!
How to Twitter: How to Tweet – by video
To make life even easier for you I have prepared a video for you that you can watch here and now. As you see me open an account, you will hear me talk through the process, the variables and all the additional information that could be useful, that we have not written out here.
You will find a few additional ideas about setting up your account, you will see how I import an additional list from my email accounts. I show you how to upload a picture, set your email notices, and set up the time, link to your website and you can watch me insert my bio. Then I show you how to find people to follow and some will follow you back!
That’s it for now
We hope you have found this edition interesting, the next part will be in your in-box shortly. Thanks for reading. The best thing you can do now is to take action – go ahead – open your first Twitter account! and follow us… @weboptimiser
Move right on now and read the next lesson on Personalisation…
